Hello. I wanted to post my story because I felt that anyone out there who has hip problems are not alone. I was diagnosed with Legg Perthes when I was 16 years old. In Jan.1987 I had surgery and traction to try to help. I used crutches and a cane for about 1 year after surgery. My activities have been limited since then. I am now 33 years old and will be discussing more surgery on Dec15 when I see my Dr. again. I've been in quite a bit of pain for the last 2 years. Now my options consist of more surgery to try to repair the hip again or a THR. I am so scared to have a THR but I have 2 children that I want to enjoy now not when they are all grown up. I am very limited as to what I can do with them and it breaks my heart. If anyone out there has a similar story I would love to hear from you. This totally Hip site has been such an inspiration to me. I have been reading it for about a month now. Take care everyone and thanks for reading... Brenda
