I had THR on both hips July'97 & Sep'97. This resulted from a severe case of avascular necrosis. Ihad a core decompression in Feb'97 trying to save them. Only 47 years old at the time I was distrubed to think of having to go through this. However after suffering such pain for six months I agreed to have the first one done (right). It did wonderful but my left hip collaspe two weeks after the first THR. I had the second one done only 60 days later. Sure, I have had some after pain, but I'd have it done again tomorrow. I sell automotive paint and can once again paint cars if necessary and live reasonably pain free. E-mail me for any comments or questions. Thanks for the site to see I'm not alone. Joe
