I had both hips replaced on January 11, 2000. I was climbing stairs on crutches at day 6, and moving with ease for four weeks now. My only burden was secondary: Being stuck at home, dependent. I see the doc in one week, and hope to have some restrictions removed. Pain was present only the first 5-6 days. I was a regular swimmer prior to surgery, and encourage others to involve themselves in muscle-building activity before surgery..........it moves the healing along much better. I'm 59. Thanks for the website.
