January 5, 1999, my husband had THR on right side due to asteoarthritis. He was in the hospital four days, back to work running heavy equipment in three months. All was fine until September 1999. At that time he developed severe pain in the joint area, he was diagnosed with bursitis. After five months of antiinflammatories, cortdesone shots, and pain meds he is still in more pain then before his THR. The doctors have done x rays, bone scans and cancer tests. The bone scan shows lyses (sp) (eating of the bone around the prothesis). He is now on a bone densifier to try and strengthen the bone. Anyone having similar problems I would appreciate an e mail from you as to what you did and how it turned out. I will answer each and every one.....
