Your life sounds like mine a bit. I had congenital hip displasia at birth discovered when I was 1 year old. Wore a cast and had a pin for a while. But I was able to do sports just fine. Over the years my hip wore down until recently, at 43, it partially dislocates itself, locking the joint painfully. My doctor said it is now in a severe state, bone on bone and my THR surgery is scheduled for 3/20. I am scared but also excited because of so many people saying it is really worth it to get it done. I would suggest getting a referral to a specialist, the best you can find, and getting an expert opinion. I know how it is, kind of wanting to know and kind of not wanting to know. Good luck to you.
