I originally posted about my husband having bursitis following THR. Since that time we have found out two things. The bursitis is caused from sutures not desolving and the knots are pushing on the bursa sac causing all his pain. This took the doctor six months to figure out. He is having surgery to correct that problem on 3/27/00. Second problem he has now encountered. The bone is being eaten away by the cement which is called lyses (sp). He needs to have a second THR done within the year. The original prothesis needs to be completely loose before they can operate again. The rate of loosing is greater each month. Anyone with this problem? Please keep him in your prayers and thoughts. He is 65 years old, has had a heart attack in 91 and a stroke in 99.
