I just read your story and wanted to say congrats on your great recovery. It really does sound like it made all the difference for you. I am scheduled for THR in July and am of course getting very nervous about the whole thing. I am 33 and was diagnosed with Legg Perthes at the age of 16. For years I have been suffering and I had some surgery about 12 years ago but now the time has come for the THR. I was also told the" too young "story but my surgeon has finally agreed that it is my only option.Unless I want to live with this pain for a lot longer, what I am too young for is living with all this pain when it can be helped. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that when I read stories like your it helps me feel like I am doing the right thing. I always knew I was but being young I have had second thoughts. I guess that is normal??? I'm glad all has gone well for you and I hope it continues to go well for you. Brenda.F.
