My heart goes out to you and your wife. She must be a very strong and courageous woman to have endured what she has to this point. If a hip replacement is the way to go (I had mine last month, and I was nowhere close to the dire straights your dear wife is..) then...I would suggest a period of nutritional therapy along with very mild exercise to build her up, and when she's ready ... go for it!!!

Is she seeing a therapist to help her deal with the pain? It's very common to slip into a deep depression with such constant and unrelenting pain. And you, too, should be seeking support so you can be supportive for your wife. The strongest of iron will bend, and the strongest of wood will break and splinter under enough pressure, so be good to both of you.

My prayers are with you, God Bless!!
