After dislocating my hip 18 years ago in a car accident it is now inevitable for a hip replacement. So many decisions that could effect the rest of my life. I have Osteoarthritis, Inflammatory Arthritis and Necrosis. I am almost 40 and very over weight. How do I choose a Doctor? How do I decide what kind of prosthesis would be best? Metal on Metal or Metal with a plastic insert. How long will take me to go upstairs where the bath tubs are? Should I get a personal trainer to help me get in shape before the surgery? Am I truly in enough pain to go thru this or am I just a whimp? What will I be able to do after recovery period? Can I water ski? Roller Blade? Run? Plant a garden? I have lived with the pain a long time and it is getting worse everyday but maybe just loosing weight will help. So many decsions. What are the answers.
