It's SO HARD for a really active person to choose the "right time" for this surgery. I am one of those people! I have just had my original hip replacement (of 13 years ago) revised... I was only out of work for 6 weeks, and will be getting back on my bike in another 3 weeks, and starting some light hiking, and horseback riding in the Fall. I'm so glad I had it done-- I think you will be, too! I know you hate to miss anything, but you will be so much happier when your pain is gone! That never-ending pain is no fun at all. If you have your surgery now, you can be enjoying your riding before the summer's over, and then you'll have the beautiful Fall to ride in too!
