Dear doctor, I would like to inform you that I had an accident on 31st October'1998 and the femur neck of my left leg was broken. The doctor in my country tried to fix prothesis but failed and have done girdle stone operation and for that operation my left leg is now 2.5 inchies(Apx)short.I cannot walk without elbow crutch.Now the doctors are telling that if I do the Total hip replacement then I shall be able to walk like normal people without crutch and stick. Some of them are telling that after THR it is not possible to walk without crutch. Some of the doctors are telling cemented THR may lead to thrombosis.Some of the doctors are telling that non-cemented THR is the best. Some other doctors are telling that as my age is 57 so THR is not suitable.I am thoroughly confused by the different opinions of the doctors. As such under the above circumstances I pray before you to give me your valuable opinion.I believe that you will be kind enough to give me a true picture.
