I am 35 yrs. old and started feeling this excruciating pain in both my hip joints it got so bad i could not lift my feet off the floor, i went to the doctor & was diagnosed w/avn in both hips on feb. 2000 from taking steroids. 75% of my blood supply was cut off in my left hip so i got the core decompresssion done in april, a couple of weeks ago i started feeling pain again & in my x-ray it showed my left hip is collapsing so i will be getting a LTHR June 20th, the spinal anestheshia is the best cause you'll just feel minor pain in your lower back which does not last long, you'll be so relaxed and numb from the waist down you can't feel a thing, and you won't have the sore throat or won't be as drowsy afterwards. i have't been able to talk to any one with the problems i have only people who know people who has avn, thanks to this web site you can actually talk to other people who are experiencing the same problems.
