t found this site....so happy to connect with others in same condition. I was born with dislocated hip that turned out to be a missing socket and mal-formed ball. Had "Flintstone" surgery in 1962 where they carved out a shelf and built up the head of the femur. Served me well for about 35 years (played softball, swam, basketbal, riding etc) but now I am feeling the "burn". I have a terrible limp, extreme lower-back pain and excruciating hip stiffness and pain. Have tried everything (NSAID's Etc) and I am trying to gear myself up for surgery. I would love to talk to anyone with a similar history or just have some friends to ask questions...please e-mail me....I'd love to hear from you. Thanks, Kathy
