DEBBIE, I HAVE BATTLED HIP PAIN FOR 2 YEARS. I AM A PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER AND A BASKETBALL COACH. I DIDN'T WANT TO FACE THE TIME BEING AWAY FROM MY JOB AND THE HARDSHIPS IT WOULD BE ON MY FAMILY TO TAKE CARE OF ME. MY SURGERY WAS MAY 10, 2000. I WISH I HAD DONE IT SOONER. BELIEVE ME, THE RECOVERY TIME IS NOT BAD AT ALL, THE NEXT DAY I WAS WALKING ON CRUTCHES, AND EVERYDAY FROM THAT POINT I HAVE BEEN PAIN FREE. THE INCISION PAIN AND MUSCLE PAIN IS ALMOST GONE, SIX WEEKS POST OP NOW. IT IS FANTISTIC! I HAVE BEEN WALKING WITH A CANE NOW FOR 3 WEEKS, AND I CAN RID IT WHENEVER I THINK I CAN. I AM 47 YEARS OLD, AND I FEEL LIKE I HAVE MY LIFE BACK AGAIN. I EVEN WORKED OUR BASKETBALL CAMPS FOR THE PAST TWO WEEKS (5TH AND 6TH WEEK POST OP). AMAZING! I JUST HAD MY 6 WKS CHECKUP AND I AM DOING GREAT. TAKE MY WORD I WAS SO SCARED TOO, MY DOCTORS KEPT TELLING ME I WAS TOO YOUNG TO HAVE THR, BUT YOU FINALLY GET TO THE POINT YOU FEEL LIKE YOUR LIFE IS SUCH A DISASTER, I COULDN'T THINK, I WOULD CRY FOR NO REASON, MY TEAM SUFFERED AND MY STUDENTS, AND MOST OF ALL MY FAMILY. GO FOR IT GIRL, IT'S WONDERFUL. BEST OF LUCK, EVE
