I was born with right CHD (congenital hip dysplasia) and operated on as an infant. My hips were fine and I led an active life until college, when I began to experience pain intermittent pain, mostly in the cold weather. It became progressively worse, and now at 25 it was recommended that I look into having the osteotomy, to reconstruct and deepen my right hip socket. This was done on June 22, 2000. I am on crutches for 6 weeks, and if successful the repair should help me to avoid THR in the future, or at least put it off for a long time. I feel fine and will begin physical therapy in 4 weeks. It is only because of all the prayers and God's faithfulness that I am healing so fast!
