I was born with this condition & have only begun to experience in the last 2 years pain in my thigh, shin & just below the knee cap. I have trouble sleeping as the pain is sometimes unbearable. I had growth plates in my right knee removed when I was 13 so that there would be a less noticeable limp but it was pretty obvious still. Many times we ask why me? I never thought there were so many people out there with this condition. I don't feel so alone anymore. Upon visiting my doctor last week & being told that I am too young & to take ibuprofen to keep the inflammation in check, I was somewhat disappointed. I have decided to hold off of a THR for as long as I possibly can & buy me some time with other alternatives. I would love for anyone to email me if they have any of these symptoms and what they do to curb their pain. thank you Donna
