Lisa, I, too, have been diagnosed with AVN of the right hip just this last week. I've had pain for over 10 years and I am now 41 years old. I will soon need a RTHR and am looking forward to it with much apprehension. What I found interesting about your story was your mention of spinal anesthesia; are you referring to an epidural? I'm wondering what to do because I'm most anxious of the anasthesia due to a problem I had awakening from a hernia surgery done in 1990.
