When I was 3yrs old I was diagnosed with a CDH. I then had surgery and was put in a hip spiker for two years. I then had a reasonable child hood considering, I actually feel I was quite lucky!!! When I was 12 I had a Chiari- osteotomy which failed. By the time I was 25 I had a total hip replacement. This failed more times than I can say. After many operations and disappointments, I was finally sent to a genius!!! Mr Gie at the Princess Elizabeth orth. hospital Exeter. I am now back nursing . I am 33 years old.. I had some nerve palsy etc etc but who cares after years of suffering I am almost normal .. well almost!!!!!
