Having gone through THR once and going for the other side in about 2 weeks, I can tell you it is hard. I do not sleep well on my back but the recoup time is a relatively short time compared to the years of pain I went through. It took me 3 months before I could sleep on my side and until then I just did not sleep well. As to the restrictions, it took me about 6-10 weeks to lift all my restrictions. I went back to work after 5 weeks and at 10 weeks I was working 12 hour days again, running, picking up children (I drive daycare children) to place them in carseats. Just hang in there. I was given a sock-putter-onner for my socks and nylons. It works real well but as far as shaving, have someone help you. Good luck.
