My wife is suffering from hip joint infection since 1994. Recently, Agha Khan Hospital Karachi have suggested THR. Her age is 45 years. Height is approx. 5 ft with a weight of 100 kg. I am not willing to go for THR. Another ortho. surgeon have adviced me for girdle stone surgery and as per the surgery the head and the inner portion will be removed and soft tissues will be inserted between the hip joint. I do not have sufficient info. about this method. I am confused and needs an advice from u. Please i will appreciate if you kindly reply me as soon as possible. Also advice me what will be the appropiate treatment for this ailment. I have recently heard that fibre joints have been introduced. Please comment. Thanks and best regards.
