Just for another in same situation....My pain has subsided a great deal and I am not currently taking any pain medication and am now walking (slowly) with a cane. The length differiential is close to 1" so I wear a shoe on my right foot and go barefoot with the left. However; the positive news I have to offer is finding an prothesis and orthopedic company in my area that builds up "regular" shoes at $25 an inch. Since my length is off as much as it is I have to get my right shoe built up rather than using a lift inside. So I'm going shopping tomorrow for shoes to return to work in and will take them to this company to work their magic. I saw some of their work and you couldn't even tell they had modified the shoe...My PT begins on Monday and I feel like I will progress even better then. Thanks to all who read my whinning and still offered encouragement..God bless...
