Donna, I had my left hip totally replaced in June 1998. No cement was used on mine either. I am 50 years old and had avascular necrosis. Long story about that! Anyway mine hurt like yours but it got better you'll see. I think the Docs could have beeen more realistic for you. I was out of work till the end of October. From time to time if I overdo it my leg gets sore but nothing like the pain before the surgery and it goes away. I will eventually need my right hip replaced. I will not wait as long as I did for my left hip now that I know what to expect. I hope that your hip feels a little better everyday.
