I have just had my second hip replaced, the first was the left side 3 years ago and now the right. Both replacements were done by Dr. Peter Anas at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston. You can call the hospital and they will connect you to him. The first time I was in the hospital for 6 days but this time it was only 5. It was the best thing that I ever did. I have all the equipment to not bend and have therapy 3 times a week. Before I had any surgeries, I was told I was too young (47) until I found Dr. Anas. He believes you should not live in pain. I have a thin scar about 18 inches long, no staples or stitches on the outside. I was using a cane before hand but I could never walk for 2 miles, I used to hate food shopping because I would be in such pain after coming home. Good luck on finding a good doctor, I know that Dr. Anas specializes in hips and he is one of the best.
