I do not know if anyone told you but every surgery is different and every person reacts different...the doctor can give you an average of recouperation but that is not necessarily what will happen with you. My 1st surgery, March 1997, I was laid up for 3 months and could not bend for many more months. I have just had my other side done, September 15 of this year and I can walk unaided for short distances and I can put my own socks on without the "sock putter-oner". I know my restrictions and stay within them but I think your recouperation has alot to do with how much damage there is to begin with (IE: muscle tone). Keep the faith...it does get better. Keep within your restrictions and have faith.
