Marie, Osteotomy was the only option offered me at 23 when I was discovered with CHD. The repairs made to my femur heads and sockets lasted for about 25 yrs before I needed to have total hip replacements. I had bone grafting done with pins to hold things in place, but when the body cast was taken off 2 mos. later, the pins were taken out and there was no more surgery required. Why has the doctor told you another surgery to remove hardware will be required? What does the Dr. propose be done? Mavis
