Hi all, i'm 16 years old and I was born with bilateral congenital hip dislocation...they tried the harness, the cast, and finally surgery...8 surgeries later, my left hip was normal, however my right will never be perfect. My last surgery was 3 years ago--and they placed two metal screws in my right hip that will be there until I get it replaced later in my life. I have a noticable limp and a lot of pain, and I have struggled through the pain wondering WHY it had to be me and WHY I had to be so young. It doesn't seem like things like this should happen to a 16 year old. I just wanted to say though, that i'm glad I found this website, and that there are other people like me. And everyone keep smiling...it only makes you stronger in the end. :)
