Emma I understand some of what you are going thru I was found to have CDH at the age of 15. I had surgery to relocate the hip and at the age of 18 had surgery to remove the hardware. Every since then the pain has gotten worse and worse over time and my mobility had deminished also. I am 37 now and scheduled for a total hip Dec 8, 2000. I beleive that my hip cost me my marrage. It got to the point that sex with my wife was more pain than pleasure. It made me physicaly withdraw and also emotionally withdraw because I felt like less of a man. There is no way that a healthy doctor can ever understand what problems that a handicap can cause to your mind. I am very excited about getting my new hip I know it wont be perfect but I know it will be better. The doctors have wanted me to wait but I would rather have a few quality years now than wait till im 50 or 60. Emma DONT GIVE UP its your life and body look at all the options and do what will give you the best oportunity to live a somewhat normal life
