I am 45 years old and I have arthritis of the left hip. I am still very active but the pain and stiffness is getting worse. I have tried all kinds of alternitive methods to releive the pain. I found out about a type of replacement called a surface replacement. Where they do not cut off the femur head it is capped and fitted to a counterpart. I have heard it is a very successful operation and you are able to do some sports with less risk of dislocation than the standard replacement. If there is anyone who has this type of replacement I would love to hear from them.
