Wayne, I too was informed by my doctor on December 15th that I had received on of these implants on my right hip replacement on June 7th 2000. I had a left hip replacement on November 17th 1999. Recovered from the first one in fine fashion and expected the same from the second. If you scroll down to "Pain Recurring After 5 Months Post Op." in November you will see that I have been having an extremely hard time recovering. The manufacturer is Sulzer Medica. You can visit their website at sulzermedica.com. It may be that it will come down to a revision although my doctor is not jumping at it right now. I am only 45 and reasonably strong so they think I may be able to live with it. The reason I selected this hip was for it projected longevity. I didn't anticipate doing 3 thr's in little more than a year. You can bet I have already contacted a lawyer. The web site states that more than 17,000 of these have been installed in hip patients.
