Why do you think you will be semi-invalid?? Of course there will be things that you cannot do such as contact sports, but can you do this now??? After you have found the best surgeon and hospital and do your PT you will be good as new..maybe better, because you will be pain-free. I am a 48 yr female 6 months post-op right hip, I had Legg Perthes, what is your reson for THR.? Good Luck and check back often..
