My MD informed me that my implant was recalled and my x-ray confirmed that the shell is loose and there is space already between my pelvis and the implant. He later contacted me after he did his first revision of a patient with the recalled inter-op shell. The shell was loose and he is confident that with surgery to replace the shell, I will do fine. My exreme groin pain and inability to bear weight on my leg are tolerable for the short term with 800mg of motrin 3x daily. I have my surgery scheduled for 1/10/01 and am anxious to be out of pain. I am relieved to know that I will not need to endure this pain forever!! Good luck to all of you in this situation.
