I'm 55 and am planning on having THR in about a month. However, I am having a hard time with the decision. I don't have a great deal of pain just lack of range of motion: putting on socks and shoes and cutting toe nails. Also I can't walk 18 holes of golf anymore: maybe just 500 yards and then the hip starts to get irritated. My concern is having the surgery and afterwards wishing that I had waited longer. So, my question is how bad off does a person have to be before he says "Any THR result is better than what I'm suffering now"? Thanks
