Hi, Melissa...my name is Jared and I am 22 years old. I live in St. Louis. I have AVN in my right hip and just recently had to have the dead bone removed from my hip joint because of a reoccurring infection. I was put on IV antibiotics for 6 weeks (for the 4th time) and just recently got done with a 3 week course of oral antibiotics. I can not have a hip replacement until the infection in totally gone, so now we just wait and pray it is gone this time. What caused your AVN? Mine was from steriods.
