I would NEVER put my 85 yr old mother or anyone through this surgery unless it was manditory or a matter of life and death. She is overweight and has high blood pressure and her age are all stikes against her for a successful recovery.I would definetly get several opinions on this. Did she break her hip? Is having this major surgery and months of recuperation to relieve her pain or just to be more comfortable walking? I would suggest you think long and hard on this decison. I am quite young and 8 months post-op...it is rough..
