You KNOW when you need the surgery! My pain was in my knee and I couldn't put on a shoe or sock for some time. Walking any distance was so difficult. I was resigned to a rocking chair until I realized that it's 2001 and there are wonderful surgeons who can replace worn parts of our bodies. My surgery was on Dec. 18th. I just started driving, had very little pain and have healed quickly. The second total hip replacement is scheduled for October and I can't wait to get it done and to begin living again. Good luck!
