Sorry I didn't read this post sooner...Mm mother had her hip replaced last year at age 81...She breezed through it with no problems what so ever she as released from the hospital in a couple of days and came to my house to recoop..She did everthing her physical therapist told her to do (which is the key to recovery for anyone regardless of age ( I have had 2 hip replacements and am expecting the first one to be redone in late March)..Any 85 year old in pain deserves to be pain free just like any one else...She could live to 100 no one knows and she should be given the chance. I hope she doees well I know my mother did...good luck please keep us posted...
