Hello,

This is Judy and Paul Magrath from Toronto, Canada....our 21 month old daughter Gabriella was born with CDH in her left hip.

An earlier attempt at correcting the condition non-surgically through the use of a Pavlic harness was unsuccessful.....Feb 26, 2001 we go to the hospital for an open reduction on her left hip.

We surely hope we are doing the correct thing by attempting to correct this problem at her young age. Especially since she demonstrates no symptoms at all....she began walking at 11 months and has progressed to running and jumping and loves to dance.

We have our doubts about putting her through the surgery and 2 months of recovery in a body cast....but a lot of the stories that we are reading suggest that if we can address this now, we can avoid more serious problems in the future.

We have our fingers crossed.

Best regards,

Paul & Judy
