My dad (age 64) had THR 7 months ago and still has pain. He had a very bad staph infection after the surgery, necessitating replacing the new hip and cutting out a lot of infected flesh, as well as 2 months of intravenous antibiotics. I think he's worried that the pain is related to the infection. It seems to me that after all that, the muscles and bone would need a lot of time to heal. Is it normal to have pain still? He's pretty active, walks regularly. Look forward to hearing from someone.
