My mom fell and broke her hip about two years ago when she was 77. She was in great shape at the time, the surgery went well, her recovery was rapid, but then things started to go badly. We finally have had a bone scan that shows her replacement is loosening; she has EXTREME pain just above her knee and the leg won't support her weight. (Despite all this she has maintained good muscle tone and flexibility.) I do not know yet whether she has one of those devices that has been recalled; I believe the surgery was not cemented but I'm not sure. We are still gathering details. I'm hoping that someone on this bulletin board can help us with advice on where to look for more info, any doctors in NY, NJ or Florida that have great revision surgery experience, stories, etc. We have been through alot with our mom and she has been great and we want her to be able to enjoy her life for years to come. Thanks so much for any info you'd like to share. Personal email can be received at lauriegberg@att.net.
