I have hip dysplasia or congenital dislocation of the hips (CDH) and had a periacetabular osteotomy to correct my right one. My left is good enough and will last my lifetime. I was treated with casts as a toddler but for whatever reason, my hip was not fixed and at age 30 I started to have pain in my hip joint. It took me 7 years to get the nerve up to have surgery and find the right doctor to perform an osteotomy. I am feeling much better now but the recovery from osteotomy is long, the more support you have the better. Best wishes to you and if you have questions just let me know.
