I am thrilled to find a site such as this one. Too bad it took so long... I am recovering from a cementless hip replacement 13 weeks now.The only complication was a stress mark on the femur, in which a band was put around the femur to stabilize it. I am fairly consistant with my home excersizes as well as my outpatient PT. However, I am hard on myself for feeling "delayed" in my performance.Back at work full time teaching, I still limp alittle, use no assistance in walking, the incision is still sore and have some thigh ache. Is this normal in the recovery process for three months? As a young patient (43),and 48 hours after hospital discharge, my home PT provider didn't know what to do with me. He wasn't challenging enough. I had to toe-touch for 5 weeks. Not even partial weight bearing was permitted at the beginning. I feel good now, with no pain except for twinges here and there and that thigh ache. I also had a very tight sinovial capsule surrounding the hip joint after the surgery. My range of motion just hit 95 degrees.I feel I should be further along in recovery. Any words of wisdom? Elyse
