Hi, I think the decision is largely based around your age and level of activity. Fake hips aren't made to last for ages. I am 24 and am going for an oseotomoy in December. I also was not really given this choice becuase of my age - I would probably need a new one in 10 years and then 8 and so on, each time their success decreasing. I was told that after my osteotomy I would be at the same risk as most other people of needing a THR. A THR would be necessary if the arthiritis has gone to far. I am lucky to have caught it in time. A body would always prefer its own "material". My opinion is the osteotomy but of course it depends on your situation. Goodluck deciding and above all, I wouldl reccommend getting 2nd and third opinions.
