I am a 54 yr. old woman and had THR 9/25/01. Three weeks later 10/14/01 the doctor had to reoperate because of a staph infection of the blood and the bone. I was on home IV antiobiotics for 2 and a half months and now on oral antibiotics. The hip has not straightened and I bend at the hip and it hurts my back. I still can't put a shoe or sock on. I am self-employed, but it does hurt to work. The doctor told me that this could take 3 hrs. for my hip to straighten. I walk with a limp and I am very depressed. Talk to me anyone if you have any ideas. Marie
