Hi,
I read your letter,I just want to say I started have pain in my Groin area in September of 99. Went to the doctor and they told me I have arthritis. They gave me vioxx and pain killers and sent me home. The pain was starting to get worst and I went back. The did a bone scan and it showed the AVN. I Then went for the MRI and it showed AVN in both hips. My doctor told me the same thing that I was too young to have A THR. So he sent my MRI to dukes hospital to see if I am a good candidate for a Fibular Graft. Now since september my pain has gotten 5 times worst. I am on Crutches and the pain is still bad. I have not heard from Dukes as of yet, I have to go back to the Ortho on Wednesday and if I haven't heard from Dukes by that time I am going to tell him to lets go and do the THR because this is no life. I am only 42 years old, and I do not want to live everyday in pain, and taking pain meds. I am a young single woman and I want to live my life like a you single 42 year old should. Going to bed at night in pain and waking up in pain is no life. If he won't do the surgery, find another doctor.
