I asked my orthopedic surgeon about metal on metal and he told me he had written an article on this. Apparently, there is very little U.S. history on this. In short, a very very small percentage of the europeans who have had metal on metal have shown they develop tumors. The problem is, it hasn't been studied long enough to get good results after a number of years.
