Hello, I am 33 and am having THR in July on my left hip. I can relate a bit to your story. I have been putting off the surgery for years now. My DR. wanted me to hold off as long as possible because I am young. So now I have decided that I am too young to be in pain everyday so I am going for it. I think what did it for me was that I am unable to play with my 2 boys the way I would like to. IE: bike riding, walks, playing catch, anything that little boys love to do. Some days I can get around OK but most days the pain just sets me back. I can get around but I limp so bad because the weight on the joint can be unbearable some days. Many people say to me...Why are you having this done? And I tell them to live with pain like this all your life and see how much you can handle. I know from experience how it is. I think only you can decide when to have this done. You are way too young also to life like that. Good luck on making your decision. If you would like to you can E Mail me at... rferri@home.com I live in Ontario Canada. Hope to hear from you. Brenda.F.
