My damage from prednisone happened 16 years ago and only in the past two years did it even hurt. My only recourse is hip replacement. I was so angry when I found out a month ago, but over the past month I have learned so much about THR I feel very positive again. Bo Jackson had AVN (from trauma)and I think he even played football with a hip replacement. So there is plenty of good life after, if in fact that is your only treatment available. The Totally Hip site has been a lifeline for me, reading about others with similar problems makes you realize you aren't alone. I hope some of this will help you. Good Luck.
