I'm amazed at all the stories I have read about all you "hippies" doing such intense physical therapy since discovering "totally hip" site. Except for the PT during 8 day stay in Ortho. hosp.each time-I was never given PT as various people have described. I was always able to return to work after the third month and just progressed in movement from there. Only exercise I was told to do took place after very first ops. when I had bilateral osteotomy where my own bone was used and he smoothed out femur heads and sockets and placed heads into sockets. I had intensive PT at Convales.hosp.-pool therapy, knee lifts, etc.as had to learn to walk again after being immobilized in body cast 2 mos. Was just told to use back of chair to do side leg-lifts to strengthen muscles when home again. Does anyone know WHY some doctors order it and other don't?
