Sally, I just read your message today, I'm 38 and have had ' open cheilectomy' to remove bone spurs and other extra bone (heterotrophic ossification) from around the head of the femur. I was in hospital for 6 days and nonweight bearing for 10 weeks now I am learning to walk properly I'm still on crutches and off work. The pain is getting less but not yet less than what I had before. I live in Surrey England& would like to hear from others in the same boat
