Hi sorry to hear about your hip. I am 44 and will have THR on Sept 15. My hip groin and knee all hurt. Yes it can come on that suddendly. Your knee and groin pain are the result of favoring your hip. My new hip will be non cement so there for non weight bearing for 6 weeks then out of work for 12 weeks. I do much walking for my job as I am in sales. I would advise getting 2nd 3rd and 4th opinion to ease your mind. Good Luck. Marcia
